WMRC Interview: Nunes Shows True Colors

The Foxwoods deal has RADICALLY changed.  The latest plan on the table is larger than originally planned and is now 75% of the combined phases 1 and 2.  More traffic, less water and on and on….

Was it in the plan from the beginning? Developer, David Nunes has been eyeing that piece of land for the last 5 years, pitching a rosy deal to our Selectmen, long before Massachusetts had a gaming law.  In 2011, he attempted to place an initiative on the state ballot that would have permitted casinos in SPECIFIC locations in MA,  conveniently listing Milford as one of them.  According to Nunes, it was his “insurance policy” if the state legislature failed to pass a casino law.  The Attorney General denied the request.

Now to stay alive against Boston and Everett, he has become desperate and has taken to publicly bashing Selectman Bill Buckley for what he calls, “standing in the way of progress and what’s best for the community.” Mr. Nunes does NOT know what’s best for the citizen’s of Milford.  He is NOT “fighting for the citizens of Milford,” as he claims.  His motives are purely selfish. He’s in it for the money and ALWAYS has been.
