CONSIDER THIS! Casino Traffic WILL Hurt Milford!

The casino traffic impact will be REAL and it will hurt both residents and businesses.

Dear Members of the Milford community:

I have been a resident of East Milford for over 27 years.  Living on the corner of E. Main Street (Route 16), I have watched major increases in traffic over the years from the Holliston town line to the intersection of Beaver St/Fortune Boulevard.  Foxwoods plans to build the casino entrance on E. Main Street, all while promising to have little traffic impact on the “local roads”.

Foxwoods’ glossy fliers and full-page ads promise to keep traffic off the “local roads”.  Perhaps they are unaware that East Main Street IS a local road – as is Medway Road (Rte. 109) and Cedar Street (Rte. 85).  East Main is the only access those of us on this end of Milford have to reach shopping, working or the highway. I can’t imagine how we will be able to get to stores, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. on Fortune Boulevard and Medway Road, with the major increase in traffic this casino will cause.

Local businesses will be hurt. Foxwoods’ promise of spillover economic growth for these businesses cannot happen if residents are unable to get to them.  Many residents may choose to take an easier route to other towns for those goods and services.

The traffic impact will be REAL and it will hurt both residents and businesses. Foxwoods cannot add 55+ thousand cars on a typical weekend to our roads and think it will not make a difference.  Please vote NO on Nov. 19.
