Tony's Place Closes

The tiny restaurant on Main Street was owned by Tony Demir, who died four months ago.

Tony's Place, a fixture in Milford, has closed, a few months following the death of its owner, Tony Demir.

Mustafa "Tony" Demir, who opened the restaurant on Main Street 15 years ago, died in April following a brief illness.

The town's Board of Health said no application has been made by a new restaurant tenant. Milford Patch wasn't able to reach the property owner, or the son of Mr Demir, this week.

Tony's was known for its large, varied menu and for breakfasts. The restaurant was among the tiniest in Milford, and run six days a week by Mr. Demir, who was its head cook. It had remained open after his death, but closed at some point in recent weeks.

Neighbors on Main Street said the restaurant closed several weeks ago. The interior recently was cleaned out.
