Stop And Shop Launches Curbside Pickup

The store last week started online ordering for customers who want to pick up their groceries.

Want to send someone else out to pick out your groceries? Now you can.

The Milford Stop and Shop last week launched pick up service, allowing customers to shop online then drive up to collect the packed bags.

The service, offered through its partner Peapod, doesn't cost extra. And no tips either. Peapod has its shoppers fill out the orders, and select produce and meats, for example. The goods are then placed into temperature-controlled containers.

Several parking spaces near the store have been converted into 'Pickup' spots. The promotional fliers in the store tell customers: "Turn Your Car into a Cart."

To try it out, or for more information, visit stopandshop.com/pickup. Customers pay online, and can schedule a time slot to pick up the groceries.
