Health Inspections: Fish Man's Truck, KFC, Italian American Vets Club, Hunan Gourmet, Imperial Buffet

The following businesses were inspected recently by the Milford Board of Health

Editor's Note: the following statements are from health inspection reports completed by the Milford Board of Health inspectors.

Angelo Pirri Seafood truck, Sept. 19, (mobile): All seafood (fish) tested were being held at proper temperatures. Truck appeared to be maintained. Receipts were made available where fish was purchased.

Little Stars Day Care and Preschool, 229 Purchase St., Sept. 24: Violations here included the following: need to clean the interiors of the microwave oven and the toaster oven.

Lowe's, 40 Fortune Blvd., Sept. 24: No violations.

Kindercare, 235 Congress St., Sept. 25: One violation here. Need to keep draws and cabinets where utensils and equipment are stored clean and free of any dust or debris.

KFC, 55 Medway RD., Sept. 25: Paper used to cover biscuits in the walk in freezer is not adequate. Grill oven (interior) needs to be cleaned, adn grease for two fryers needs to be changed.

Italian American Veterans Club, 4 Hayward St., Sept. 26: Violations here included the following: Need a thermometer for the freezer section of the household type refrigerator, six-burner stove top needs to be cleaned due to burnt stuck-on food debris, interior of the microwave needs to be cleaned. Flood slicer needs to be completely broken down and cleaned and sanitized. Food service utensils and equipment are stored all over the kitchen, none in a clean, sanitary manner. Club kitchen suffering from general cleanliness and general upkeep. Upstairs kitchen used for caterers is in good condition.

Hunan Gourmet, 130 Main St., Sept. 27: Recent violations here included the following: In the basement, very back storage room, bags of food are to be closed tightly. Some foods in the walk in cooler are to be covered, in addition, foods container removed and the floor cleaned. Need paper towel for the employee hand sink. Food slicer is to be completely broken down, cleaned and sanitized. The storage area under this food slicer is to be cleaned and buckets of food are to be covered. The two-burner stove is in need of cleaning. Clean the exterior of the Coke cooler including the door guides. Interior of the microwave oven needs cleaning. Clean, disinfect and supply the employee hand sink. Three cutting boards disposed of due to excessive wear. All food contact work surfaces, storage surfaces, are to be cleaned. There is to be a visible difference on multiple surfaces in the kitchen. A re-inspection is scheduled.

Imperial Buffet, 196 E. Main St., Sept. 13: Violations here included the following: Need thermometers in coolers and freezers where missing or buried. Clean interiors and exteriors of both two-door glass coolers. Repair rear screen door due to tears and holes. Maintain women's and men's restrooms and store any food in cardboard boxes off the floor.
