Open for Business: Milford's Family-Owned Christmas Tree Lot
The Mendall family is selling trees on East Main Street through Christmas Eve.
Looking to buy your Christmas tree from a local family? Milford has a small tree lot on East Main Street, operated by Jamison Mendall.
Mendall is an arborist year-round. The Christmas tree business is a seasonal one. He offers two types of trees: Fraser fir (two left) and Balsam fir. The prices are $25 to $70, depending on the size and type of tree. He ordered four Fraser firs this year, in part for families who requested them last year.
Hours are noon to 9 p.m. daily, and he'll open on weekends earlier, by 9 a.m., as that's the peak for the Christmas tree sales. The tree lot is at 235 E. Main, next to Rock Bottom Stone Factory Outlet (across from the former Doc's Sports Bar).
Because he's still working as an arborist, he may not be on the lot on occasion, Mendall said. His cell phone is included on the company's sign, so people can call ahead: 508-958-0747.
