Mendon Twin Drive-In to Stream Live Jimmy Buffet Concert

A special "Live at the Drive-In" concert will be held in June.

It'll be a short drive to Margaritaville for Milford residents this June.

On Thursday, June 19, the owners of the nearby Mendon Twin Drive-In will live stream a performance by Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band as they perform live from Fort Worth, Texas.

The event is meant to celebrate the the group's new "Live at the Drive-In" series, as part of which the June 19 concert will be broadcast live on drive-in screens across the nation.

Participating venues will donate a portion of proceeds to a foundation working to preserve drive-in theaters across America. 

To add some flavor to the show, the Phantom Gourmet's Andelman brothers, who now own the Mendon Drive-In, will serve a variety of food, as will Firefly's BBQ.

General admission to the performance is $18 per person, with VIP admission costing $50 per person and including a special entrance, access to a patio area and a laminate keepsake ticket and special gift. Access to the event will be granted to those who are 21 and older.

The Mendon Drive-In is located on 35 Milford St. in Mendon, just minutes from the Milford border. The cost for patrons is $25 per car. 

During the months of April, May, September and October, the drive-in will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday evenings. The theater will also be open nightly from Memorial Day through Labor day, with the box office and snack bar opening at 6 p.m., and the double-feature movies beginning at sundown.
