Ipsen's Biomeasure Facility Sold to Illinois Company

A bankruptcy court has approved the sale of Ipsen's property on Maple Street to Baxter International.

Ipsen's Biomeasure facility on Maple Street has been sold to an Illinois-based drug manufacturer.

, was approved Wednesday, according to a report in the Worcester Business Journal.

As recently as last year, Ipsen had planned to expand in Milford. That plan, and a tax incentive plan approved by Milford town meeting members, was cancelled earlier this month.

Ipsen employs about 150 people in Milford. The company had stated, in a letter to town officials, that research staff will be transferred to another facility outside of Milford.

Manufacturing staff were to remain in Milford, but would fall under the new owner.

The property on Maple Street is valued at about $5 million, according to town records.
