Officials broke ground this week on a new 115,00 square-food addition to the Milford Regional Medical Center, the Boston Business Times reported Wednesday.
The two-story facility, which includes a lower-level parking lot for 52, is to include an emergency department, intensive care unit and private patient rooms, according to the report.
Consigli Construction Co., Inc. was selected as the construction manager to build the $54 million facility that looks to accommodate about 70,000 visits each year, according to the Times. TRO Jung/Brannen is serving as the architect for the project, with Murphy McManus serving as the project manager.
The project, which is expected to be completed by the fall of 2015, is meant to double the size of the current emergency department and include an expanded diagnostic imaging space, according to the report.
