Wind Chill Advisory for Milford

The advisory recommends limiting time outdoors. Frostbite can occur within 30 minutes when wind chill values dip to 20 below.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Central and Western Massachusetts, including Milford, where temperatures with wind chills are expected to dip to 15 degrees below Wednesday.

The wind chill advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday. The coldest of the temperatures is expected Wednesday morning.

The impacts include: prolonged exposure to bitterly cold wind chill values can result in frost bite and hypothermia. Winds are expected from the west at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph.

Temperatures will fall into the single digits to values below zero, especially in the west and in higher terrain.

Frostbite can develop in just 30 minutes with a wind chill index of near -20. Limit time outdoors. Dress in layers and war a hat and gloves to protect yourself from the cold.
