Officials, Residents Gather in Milford to Honor Boston Marathon Bombing Victims

State and local officials, residents and medical personnel gathered for a memorial ceremony on Tuesday.

Dozens gathered at the Milford First Congregational Church Tuesday afternoon to honor the victims of last year's Boston Marathon bombings on the one-year anniversary of the event.

A total of about 75 people attended the ceremony, which ran from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The event was originally to be held outdoors at Draper Park, but was moved indoors at the church due to the weather.

The event included appearances by Massachusetts State Sen. Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge), State Rep. John Fernandes (D-Milford) and Jeffrey Hopkins, MD, Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Milford Regional Medical Center.
