Waclawik received the rank after completing his Eagle Scout Project, which entailed constructing a rosary walk around the rear parking lot at St. Brendan's Parish in Bellingham.
The walk includes a life-sized cross and continues with 6-by-6 foot wooden posts with "Our Father" beads on top, connected with more than 300 feet of chain and strung with 55 handcrafted beads Waclawik made with his grandfather's ShopSmith woodworking tools. The project took Waclawik more than 450 hours, over a year, to complete.

Troop 2 Scoutmaster Giacomo "Jack" Armata served as the master of ceremonies at the March 9 ceremony. The event also welcomed Senior Patrol Leader Peter Bertonazzi, who led Troop 2 Scouts through the opening ceremony, which was then followed by an invocation from Rev. David Mullen, the pastor of St. Brendan’s Parish.
Troop 2 Eagle Scout Jack Donahue read the Voice of the Eagle, a traditional Scouting narrative describing the path from new Scout to the rank of Eagle Scout, while Assistant Scoutmaster Antonio Ruscitti issued the Eagle Scout Challenge, a call to honor the meaning of the achievements of the Eagle Scouts from the days of the first Eagle Scout to the present day.
Chuck Clark, Milford's Representative of the Tri-River District to the Knox Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America, opened the Eagle Court of Honor, during which Waclawik was escorted to the podium by his brother David.
Troop 2 Eagle Scout and former Troopmaster Alfred Abbondanza issued the Eagle Scout Charge and Oath to Waclawik in the presence of a half dozen current Eagle Scouts, and Armata presented Waclawik with the rank of Eagle Scout.
Waclawik spoke to those in attendance regarding his most fond memories of his Scouting career and how Scouting and the leaders present helped him to mature and grow over the years.
During his six years with Troop 2, Waclawik served in several capacities, attending campouts, trips to the Boston Harbor Islands, summer camps at Camp Resolute in Bolton and a hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. He travelled to Scotland with the Troop to meet Troop 2’s brother Troop from Inverness, and he toured the Scottish Highlands, learned traditional Scottish dances, and survived eating haggis.
State Sen. Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge) presented Waclawik with a resolution from the State Senate, while State Rep. John Fernandes (D-Milford) and State Rep. Kevin Kuros (R-Uxbridge) presented him with a resolution from the Massachusetts House of Representatives congratulating him for achieving his Eagle rank.
Blackstone Selectwoman Margo Bik presented Waclawik with a Certificate of Achievement for attaining his Eagle Rank.
Waclawik is set to graduate from Seton Home Study School, based in Fort Royal, Virginia. He plans to attend the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the fall as a Computer Science major. He currently works for C3i Tech Support Services as an IT Support Specialist at Genzyme in Framingham.
