Milford Storm Central: Milford Schools to Open on Time Wednesday

Milford is preparing for another significant snow storm Tuesday into Wednesday. This post will be updated regularly with storm related news and information, including cancellations. Milford Town Library will open at 1 p.m. Wednesday, due to the storm.

Milford Schools will be open Wednesday, and on time. The superintendent said buses will stop and pick up any walkers they see.

Milford District Court will open on time, but first-day jurors are not to report for duty on Wednesday in any county court house, except Berkshire, Franklin and Hampshire counties in western Massachusetts. Court houses are closed in Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes and Nantucket counties. Norfolk County court houses have a delayed opening, 10 a.m.

Blackstone Valley Vocational-Technical High School in Upton will be closed Wednesday, according to a tweet from Upton Police.

Milford Federal Savings and Loan will have a delayed opening Wednesday. The bank will open at 10 a.m.

The Milford Planning Board meeting is cancelled Tuesday, due to weather. The board had been expected to hold a public hearing on a zoning change to allow taller public school buildings.

Milford Regional Medical Center has cancelled several programs for Tuesday night, including a babysitting course, parts 1 and 2, and a Zumba class. In addition, the program at the Whitinsville campus for Yo-Chi has been canceled. Makeup on that will be March 18.

Milford Schools have cancelled all evening activities Tuesday.

The rubbish will still be collected Wednesday in Milford, but on a delayed start due to the storm. Residents are asked to NOT take out the trash or recycling buckets Tuesday night, as this will interfere with plowing efforts.

How much snow will fall? Milford is in an area expected to get at least 4 to 8 inches from the storm.

Winter storm warning. Southern New England is in a Winter Storm Warning area, effective at 1 this afternoon.
