5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 10

Openings remain in the Milford Youth Center summer camp.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Milford Selectmen will host a meeting Monday night at Milford High School, for town officials to review a traffic impact report on the proposed Foxwoods Massachusetts casino. The session will begin at 7 p.m., although doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The format for the meeting is explained here.

2. The traffic impact report prepared on behalf of Foxwoods, which will be discussed Wednesday, is now online. You can view the report here.

3. The Milford Youth Center has begun its summer youth camp program, with visits to attractions including Canobie Lake Park already completed. Spaces remain available for the summer. A combination of in-town and out-of-town field trips is scheduled. Camp runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $135 per week or $40 per day. 4. Concrete work is being done at Milford Town Hall this week, to repair hazardous cracks in the sidewalk leading up to the stairs.

5. The work on the Police Department roof is expected to begin this week.
