Curious about blight properties in Milford

Amazed by Milford, Neighbor

Saw in the Milford Daily News an article about this topic.
Just curious how Milford handles these properties. I live near a property that I know one unit was shut down by Section 8 for health code violations.... As far as I know it hasn't been fixed and its been a year now.
Does the state have any leverage on these properties too?
