Free Fall Family Fun Day to be Held at Milford Town Park

An afternoon of free, family fun is scheduled for October 19 (rain date, October 26), at Milford Town Park. The Whiskey Church and Velvet Skies 80s cover bands will rock the park and a host of activities - including a moonwalk, face painting and a Halloween costume contest for both children and adults – will be offered. The fun will be happening between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, with the Halloween costume contest starting at 3:00 PM.  Milford Boy Scout Troop #18 and the Milford Girl Scouts will be manning the refreshment table and hot dogs, cider and hot cocoa will be available.

Fall Family Fun Day was organized by Alternatives’ Greater Milford Advisory Council. Advisory Council member Mike Kaplan states, “We are really excited about this opportunity to get the word out about the residential, day and employment programs Alternatives’ provides in the Greater Milford area for people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities.” “This event is a great example of Alternatives’ commitment to sponsoring community events that people of all abilities can enjoy together,” added fellow Advisory Council member Jeff Batta. For more information about Alternatives and the event, go to www.AlternativesNet.org.

The afternoon concert and activities are free, but donations are welcome. All proceeds will support Alternatives’ services in the Milford area and the Milford Schools’ special education programs. The event is being sponsored by Milford Nissan, Mike Kaplan Law Offices, Printsmart Office Products, Milford National Band, Milford Rotary Club and the Milford Bar Association.
