Wind Advisory in Effect for Milford

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. A wind advisory will be in effect for a broad section of southeastern New England, including Milford, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, as two distinct storm systems move through the area. Gusts are expected to reach up to 57 mph, with sustained winds of 37 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

2. National Grid, which serves Milford, said in a press release that it is moving crews into the area expected to be impacted by high winds Friday. "National Grid is now gearing up for possible electric service interruptions due to anticipated strong winds tonight and tomorrow. Heavy rain and wind gusts of 45-55 miles per hour are expected throughout New England, with the most severe weather likely occurring on Friday morning," the company stated, in a release.

3. The Board of Selectmen's meeting on Monday has been cancelled.

4. Reminder: this is the weekend to turn the clocks back. Turn them back as you head to bed on Saturday night.
