What's Open and Closed on Labor Day?

Today's a federal holiday. But only some people get the day off.

This holiday recognizes the contribution of the American worker. Yeah, workers! But on Labor Day, at least some of us will be working. It's an American holiday but employers treat it differently.

So, here's a random summary of what's open and what's closed today. If you have something to add please do in the comments so readers will know.

What's Open:

Supermarkets will hold regular hours today.

Most retailers and restaurants are open, including PiNZ, which is holding a special bowling and laser tag promotion on Monday. All you can play, for $9.99 a person.

Package stores, some of them. It's a mixed bag here. The Route 109 Mobil will be open, the cashier cheerfully told us. No days off here. But Hickey's Liquors will be closed on Labor Day.

What's Closed:

Government offices are closed, including the state Registry of Motor Vehicles in Milford, and Town Hall, too.

Trash collection will be delayed a day, giving the trash collection employees the day off. Trash will be collected a day late all week.

Enjoy your day!
