Thanks to Yanks Magic Show Scheduled, Winter Adult Programs at Milford Community Use

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. One of the more popular winter events for families in Milford has a date: Thanks to Yanks Magic Show will be Feb. 9. The event is free. It features magician Tommy James and will be held at the Stacy Middle School. Tickets are limited and need to be reserved by noon on Friday Feb. 7. Email organizer Mike Shain at mshain@charlesriverbank.com with the number of tickets needed.

2. Adult education programs for the Milford Community School Use program begin the week of Jan. 27. Visit the website for all programs, but this year, the classes include a one-time workshop on "marketing for the small business" and American Sign Language, taught by a local teacher. A walk-in registration will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Registration forms can be downloaded from the website, but registration must be done in person or by mail.

3. "Workout Smart and Eat Smarter," a one-night program through the Milford Community School Use program, will be offered free of charge on Jan. 15 at Milford High School. It is taught by Liane Blyn, owner of Athletic Based Training in Milford and Holliston. Registration is now being accepted.

4. Talk Show with RJ Sheedy, a program on Milford TV, will have another live show on Jan. 18. The program starts at 8 p.m. Guests will be Jorge Rivera, owner of Rivera Athletic Club and a former fighter with the UFC, Gardner comedian Dennis Wirth and the band, Loose Salute.
