Planning Board Hearing on Woodland, Zoning Changes Rescheduled

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The Milford Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 28 on proposed zoning changes that would allow a taller public school building to be placed on the Woodland School site as a replacement school. If approved by Town Meeting, the zoning changes would also allow future public schools to be taller than zoning now allows. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. It was rescheduled from this week due to the storm.

2. Thanks to Yanks is presenting its free magic show on Feb. 9, but parents or guardians need to email for their tickets by Feb. 7. All military and non-military families with children are welcome to attend. The doors will open at 1 p.m. Tickets are limited. Reserve by noon Friday, Feb. 7 by emailing mshain@charlesriverbank.com with the number of tickets. You will then receive an e-mail confirmation. Audience members are encouraged to bring items that will be donated to Veterans Inc, a local support center for homeless veterans. A list of items that are needed can be found at www.veteransinc.org-Donations-Wish List.

3. The photography of Jim Calarese will be featured at Milford Town Library through the month of January.

4. The Milford Town Library will open at 1 p.m. Wednesday, due to the storm.

5. In Case You Missed It: Feb. 7 is the deadline for firms to submit a proposal to be considered for the roof design and replacement at Milford Town Library.
