New Farmers Join Upcoming Farmers Market

Here are some things to help inform your day.

1. The success of the first Milford Farmers Market has resulted in several new applications that have been approved by the Board of Health. The 6-acre Pumpkin Farm, based in Millis, will be selling vegetables at the next market, scheduled for Saturday. According to its site, the Pumpkin Farm is owned by Jason and Nicole Lobisser. "We operate using sustainable farming practices and use no synthetic fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide or fungicide." Two additional vegetable farmers also are expected at the next market.

2. Boston Magazine has released its list of the best school systems in Greater Boston. Milford came in 114th of 147 districts examined in the metro region. The top town for schools? Dover.

3. The Milford Community School Use Program needs an aquatic exercise instructor for Monday and Wednesday evenings 6:15 - 7:15, starting Sept. 4. The pay is $35 - $45 per hour based on experience and certification. If interested, please contact Len Morcone at 508 478-1119 or email lmorcone@milfordma.com.

4. Fall registration for Children's Story Time programs at Milford Town Library has begun. Registration is required for all programs. A lottery will be held on Friday, Sept. 6 after noon. Parents and caregivers may register their child in person, by phone 508-473-2145 extension 216, or though an online application.

5. Save the date: My One Wish Motorcycle Run will meet at Scioli's Pizza Bar, 146 S. Main St., on Saturday, Aug. 31. The ride is open to anyone. Registration opens at 11 a.m. that day, and it starts at 1 p.m.
