Milford Library Collecting Donations for Troops

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Today's Weather - Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. Expect a light west wind. There is a 40 percent chance of rain. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Expect a northwest wind 3 to 6 mph. 

2. The Milford Town Library young adult department is taking collections through Nov. 15 for troops overseas, to be delivered in time for the holidays. This is a community project for young adults in Milford. Please bring in unopened, new packages of socks, personal hygiene items, chewing gum, baby wipes, tuna and chicken salad in foil pounces (not cans), hot chocolate packets, ground coffee and other items. 3. The Milford Youth Center After-School program includes arts and crafts activities, boxing, Kids Choice and other daily activities. It is always open to new participants, ages 8 to 18, and is free. Hours are 2 to 6 p.m. A registration form is required.

4. Get Ready to Gain an Hour of Sleep! This year we turn back the clocks during the overnight hours heading into Sunday, Nov. 3. So mark your calendars or you may be getting up earlier than you need come Nov. 4.
