Looking for House Flipping Disaster Fame?

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The DIY Network is asking people who are flipping homes for the first time if they will consider being filmed and aired on "First Time Flippers." An announcement posted this week says: "We'd like to follow you in your venture to turn a disaster home into a money maker. Let us chronicle the highs and lows of your renovation.  Where are you going to get your biggest return on investment? Will the money be worth it all?  And remember, don't break the bank!"

2. The Milford High School Booster Club on Saturday will sponsor "Octoberfest" a bean bag toss tournament and social event. This is a 21 and up event which will include beer and wine. Admission is free. The bean bag toss tournament entry fee is $20 for teams.

3. Labor Day, the movie that was filmed around Massachusetts, including close to Milford at the Medway Lotus restaurant, will be released in January 2014. It had a premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. Read some of the initial reviews here.

4. Did you sit and patiently carve a face into a pumpkin this year? Then you appreciate the work it involves. Check out this gallery of creative pumpkins.
