Intersection Work Monday to Affect Milford Commuters, Thanks to Yanks Dinner

Here are five things to help inform your day.

1. Construction of intersection improvements at West Main and School streets in Hopkinton is expected to begin on Monday. This heavily travelled intersection in west Hopkinton also is used by eastbound commuters from Milford, who use Fiske Mill Road. Hopkinton Police have erected an electronic light board facing Upton-bound traffic, alerting them to the project. The work includes tree removal, installation of a stop light and a turn lane.

3. Thanks to Yanks has announced it is planning its 7th annual Tribute Dinner for Blue Star and Gold Star military families, and for victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. "If you are a family that has a loved one in the military, or a Gold Star family or veteran or a first responder or know of a family that we should invite, please contact Michael Shain, at, www.thankstoyanks.org." The dinner will be Sept. 11 at the Medway VFW.

4. Liberty Tax Service, which has offices in Milford and Franklin in this area, is planning to hire tax preparers by the next tax season. It is offering a free, 10-week course for people interested in learning how to apply the tax code to returns. The hours are flexible. A fee is charged for books.

5.
