UPDATED: Hopkinton Files Lawsuit vs. MA Gaming Commission

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Hopkinton filed a lawsuit Thursday against the Massachusetts Gaming Commission over its redaction of information in documents filed by Foxwoods Massachusetts, requested by the town under the state's Public Records law. According to the release: In April and July of this year, the Gaming Commission provided Hopkinton with records pertaining to the businesses and individuals backing the proposed casino, but much of the information was redacted, with the Commission, stating that “the public interest in obtaining this information does not substantially outweigh the seriousness of the invasion of privacy." The move comes about a week after the town's selectmen sent a letter to Gov. Deval Patrick, asking him to remove the current commission chairman. On Friday, the commission through a spokeswoman responded to the lawsuit: "The Town previously appealed the issues involved in the suit to the Supervisor of Public records who, after a careful examination, issued a written opinion completely upholding the Commission’s  position. The Commission looks forward to presenting that position to the court and, in deference to the judicial process, will have no further comment on the suit until the court rules.”

2. The video of the Milford Selectmen's meeting Monday, in which the board members discussed and voted on the Foxwoods Massachusetts host community agreement, is now available on the Milford TV YouTube site.

Brittany Thompson, a 17-year-old who attends high school in Franklin, reported missing Monday afternoon out of Medfield, was found Thursday morning in Coventry, RI, after a motorist spotted her walking with a man. That man is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Providence Friday, on as-yet undisclosed charges.
