Garbage, Recycling to be Collected on Veterans Day

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Veterans Day is a federal holiday, but the town's garbage contractor will still be out collecting trash and recycling. The week will continue on as usual for collections.

2. The Milford Area Chamber of Commerce has extended its deadline for accepting applications from people interested in serving as MACC President and CEO. The deadline will be Nov. 15. The information on the position is here.

3. Marty Walsh, the mayor-elect of Boston, said he would prefer the resort casino be  in Milford, rather than Everett, in an interview with WCVB TV. He didn't elaborate much as to why, saying he needed to speak with city and casino officials.

4. It's that time of year again. Milford Public Schools has published a "flu guide" for parents on the district's website.
