Free Flu Shots on Friday

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The Milford Board of Health will have a second round of free flu shots available to town residents Friday. The shots will be administered from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Milford Senior Center. The next series will be on Monday, Oct. 21, also at the Senior Center.

2. There will be no delay in collecting trash or recycling next week, due to the Columbus Day holiday. Everything will be taken away as usual.

3. Harvard Pilgrim will hold two information sessions in Milford in coming weeks to explain its Medicare Advantage Plan. The sessions will be 10 a.m. Nov. 4 and 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Holiday Inn Express on Fortune Boulevard.

4. The Milford Youth Center on Saturday will host a 3 vs. 3 Basketball Tournament as a fundraiser to honor Benjamin Nick Gonzalez, who died five years ago and left two children. The tournament starts at 1 p.m. and has several age groups, including ages 15-17. For more information, see the announcement.

5. In Case You Missed It: an unusual estate sale will be taking place on Saturday in Medfield. Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling is selling much of the contents of his home.
