Foxwoods to Hold Job, Vendor Fair in Milford

Here are five things to help inform your day.

1. Foxwoods Massachusetts, which hopes to build a resort casino in Milford near I-495, will hold a jobs and vendor fair on Thursday at the Crystal Room, a newly renovated events center on Cedar Street. The event is from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday. Milford voters will head to a referendum on the casino application on Nov. 19.

2. Milford Police will hold outdoor firearms training on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 4 p.m. to midnight, and also on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 4 p.m. to midnight.

3. Compassion New England, which is based in Mendon but operates the Blessing House thrift house in Milford, is offering free English as a Second Language classes on Wednesdays.

5. Save the Date: Truffles is hosting a benefit on Oct. 3 for Casino-Free Milford. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of all food and beverages sold that night to the casino opposition group. The restaurant is at 198 E. Main St., Milford. Reservations are strongly suggested. Call 508-482-1700
