Family Creates 'Kayley's Hope' Site, Raising Funds for Milford Child with Critical Heart Ailment

The family of 10-year-old Kayley Esteves has established a fundraising site for medical bills relating to an upcoming transplant.

The family of a 10-year Milford girl who recently was diagnosed with an unusual heart condition has created a GoFundMe site to help raise funds for medical expenses and research. Kayley Esteves, a fifth grader at Stacy Middle School, will have to have a transplant in December, according to the family.

"We are Kayley's Hope" was established by her aunt, Vienna Marques, after Kayley was diagnosed with "Mid Aortic Syndrome." The unusual condition has resulted in a narrowing of her heart artery and her family said she will require a transplant soon.

The date of the surgery is expected to be set Friday, her mother said, in a post on the site. A procedure for the girl in October failed, necessitating the upcoming transplant.
