Casino Free Milford Event Rescheduled to Oct. 30

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Casino Free Milford has rescheduled a citizens forum from Oct. 17 to Oct. 30, due to the changing availability of its speakers. The Citizens Forum will now be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 in Upper Town Hall. Speakers will include psychologist Tom Larkin, who will discuss the social impact of casino gambling on a community, former U.S. Rep. Robert Steele of Connecticut, Selectman Chairman Bill Buckley and David Morganelli, a tax attorney and member of the Milford Finance Committee, who will discuss the host community agreement and its lack of protections.

2. Your Local Weekend Forecast - According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 69. There is a 30 percent chance of rain. Friday night will be clear, with a low around 43. Expect a west wind 3 to 7 mph.

3. The Milford Community School Use Program is now taking reservations for its Music and Movement: Birth to 5 Years class. The program will run on Tuesdays from Nov. 5 to Dec. 10 at two morning time slots, your preference. The fee is $75 for town residents, $85 for out-of-town residents.
