Bottle Redemption Center Approved for East Main Street

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The Milford Planning Board on Tuesday approved a site plan waiver for a bottle redemption center to occupy a 2,000-square foot space next to Auto Zone on East Main Street. The space has had several uses in recent years, and was most recently a nail salon.

2. The Planning Board also approved a site plan waiver for Star Car Rental, which plans to place seven rental vehicles on a property at 231 E. Main St. The space previously was Settles Glass. All but one of the seven vehicles will be parked behind the building.

3. The Milford Town Library on Wednesday will host a performance of celtic and country music by "Two Old Friends: Emery Hutchins and James Prendergast." The show is free.

4. Thursday is the final day for senior citizens to sign up for a tax break program available through volunteering. The tax credit is up to $750.
