About this column:

This weekly feature will focus on recent postings from bloggers on Milford Patch.
Most people have had some experiences with bad customer service, whehter it's a large company or a small, local business. A recent blog post by Beth Rayner-Zyskowski — which posed the question whether customer service has become extinct — seemed to hit a nerve. "Target has the right idea — you pick up a phone for customer service, and almost immediately there is someone there to help you," Rayner-Zyskowski wrote. "The person who comes to help you doesn't always know the answer, but at least they are there. I've wandered around many another local store up and down the aisles, desperately …
Steven Borr, one of the first bloggers on Patch, wrote a post this week that most parents of small children will understand. You're finally in a stress-free zone, then life interrupts again. Or, in Steven's case, breaks in with a splash of cold water. Check out his blog post if you missed it.
The photos in the latest blog post by photographer Dan Bruce are beautiful to look at, and were probably even better live. If you missed the Milford fireworks this year at Plains Park, the photos give you an idea of the show that everyone talked about the next day. Check them out.

Dan Bruce, a blogger on patch, is a high school student and a photographer. He shared his photos in a blog post this week. Take a look.

Teens and college students are now competing with older adults in finding work in this economy. As the blog post noted: "According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for 16- to 19-year-olds — in other words, teens who wanted a job but could not find one — was 25.4 percent. That's up from 21.8 percent in April 2010." So, what to do? As her post suggested, don't rely on the internet. Make …
Milford Patch started hosting local bloggers on the site in May, and now has five regular bloggers. Best of Blogs, a new weekly column, will highlight some of their posts that drew interest in the past week. The art of being polite is lost on many of us, especially when we get behind the wheel. In one of her first posts on Patch, blogger Janet Billings talked about ways adults should model good behavior. She even suggested letting others go first at three- or four-way stops, something that not everyone agreed was a good idea. "Do you know children (and adults) who don't have basic manners? Be…
