Woodland Building Committee Picks Project Manager
Joslin, Lesser & Associates of Watertown will serve as the project manager for the Woodland School project. Previously, the company managed high school projects in Grafton and Uxbridge.
The Woodland School Building Committee on Wednesday appointed Joslin, Lesser & Associates of Watertown as project manager, a role required by state authorities for professional oversight of school building projects.
The company previously was project manager for several schools in the area, including the new Uxbridge High School, Grafton High School and the Freeman-Kennedy elementary school in Norfolk, where a subcommittee from Milford conducted a site visit. The company has 28 years of experience in construction, mostly in public K-12 and college buildings.
A contract for the company's services in Milford will be negotiated over the next several weeks. Once its work begins, the company's first step will be hiring an architect to develop initial proposals, said Jeffery A. Luxenberg, including several possibilities for siting a one- or two-story school on the property.
The 15-member Woodland building committee, appointed this year, will consider options for renovating or building a new Woodland Elementary School, before taking a recommendation to Town Meeting.
