Why Was a Helicopter Hovering Over Milford Friday Morning?

Inquiring minds were wondering.

A helicopter was circling the area around Route 140 in Milford this morning, and some readers were wondering why.

The helicopters got the same alert that we at Patch did: a car reportedly crashed into the Sovereign Bank at 126 Prospect St. just before 10 a.m.

In a less dramatic fashion than our television news counterparts, Patch rushed to the scene while abiding by the speed limit.

The scene had cleared, but left behind was a hefty gash in the front right side of the bank's building.

Officials said no one was injured in what appeared to be an accidental crashing into the building.

The call came in at 9:51 a.m.
