I love Hannfords - the produce is great, everyone is friendly and the prices are good. I do not like the new Price Chopper - there is not enough selection. I wish we woudl get a Trader Joes!!

I like the produce at Hannaford but I find the layout confusing. I don’t know if it’s the way the aisles are chopped in half or if they just put things in places that don’t make sense to me. But I can’t build and process a grocery list efficiently at that place. I end up crisscrossing the store and I don’t have time for that.
The new Price Chopper is even worse. There’s only one entry/exit. Aisles are pinched by end cap displays. And both parking lot exits have suicide-left turns. It’s too congested all around.
S&S gets my vote.

S&S seems to be the most expensive and has lousy produce. Hannaford's has better produce and overall better prices. But if you want the best prices, you have to put up with the chaos of Market Basket. You definitely can't beat their prices.

I agree about S&S and Shaw's is very expensive too and their produce is also lousy. I always feel like I am putting someone out if I need help with something there!! I have given up on Market Basket, just too crazy, no matter when you go there - I just can't have that much insanity in my life :-)

For me, it's a tie between Price Chopper and Hannaford. Overall cheap and still decent product too. Price Chopper is pretty congested, but it's closer to home so it's a lot better than going down toward 109 or all the way out to Market Basket, where the product isn't always great and the associates bag items together that end up crushing fruit or bread. Hardly ever go to S&S.

Overall, I would give the thumbs up to Hannaford's for Product Choice, Price and Location/Convenience. I think the best deli is Stop & Shop. And Market Basket has the best overall prices. Shaw's is run down and pricey, and the deli and fish market could use some regular cleaning.
