VIDEO: Fourth Annual Walk to Stop Hunger
Walkers joined the 10K Milford CROP Walk on Saturday to raise money and awareness to end hunger locally and worldwide.
Many residents participated in the fourth annual 10K Milford CROP Walk, which began at Draper Memorial Park, to help those who suffer from hunger. At the finish, walkers enjoyed live music, food, raffles, and face painting at First Congregational Church of Milford. While the entry was free, donations went toward the cause.
Twenty-five percent of the proceeds go back to Milford to help with two local food assistance programs: the Salvation Army Food Program and the Meals on Wheels Program. Participants were encouraged to bring canned goods to help support the Daily Bread Food Pantry.
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools. CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty.
