Veterans Day Program
Monday is Veterans Day. Milford will hold its annual parade, and then a ceremony will take place in Prospect Heights to honor veterans.
Lt. Col. Alfred Abbondanza, the grand marshal for the Memorial Day parade, salutes during the playing of Taps. Abbondanza, a 30-year Army veteran, has been deployed four times, to Afghanistan and Iraq.

The town will celebrate Veterans Day with two events on Monday.
The annual parade will kick off on East Main Street at 10 a.m., and head down Main Street to the Doughboy Monument, for a short ceremony, before ending at Draper Memorial Park.
In Prospect Heights, the Prospect Heights Mayors are hosting the unveiling of new names added to the veterans monument in its interior park. The names will now include veterans of Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War. That event is expected to begin about 11:30 a.m., or as soon as the Veterans Day parade is finished.
