Several Incumbents Pull Papers for Re-Election
Several people who hold elected offices in Milford took out nomination papers for re-election Monday, including incumbent Selectman Brian Murray.
Seven elected officials in Milford pulled nomination papers Monday, the first step in a candidacy for re-election, according to the Milford Town Clerk's office.
The list includes Brian Murray, an incumbent member on the Board of Selectman and the current chairman.
In addition, a potential race for town treasurer now exists. Barbara A. Auger, the incumbent treasurer, pulled nominations papers Monday, as did Michael D. Soares, a field service engineer with Ventana Medical Systems. Auger also is an applicant for the open position of Milford Town Administrator. That selection process is expected to be completed by early March.
The Milford town election is April 2.
Nomination papers for elected officers became available for the first time Monday. Papers can be withdrawn until 5 p.m. Feb. 8 from the Milford Town Clerk's office. Once the candidate collects the required 50 or more signatures, and the paperwork is verified, their name will be added to the town election ballot. Candidates have until Feb. 12 to return their signature lists.
Requesting nomination papers on Monday were: Murray, incumbent, Board of Selectmen; Auger, incumbent, Treasurer; Soares, Treasurer; Joseph Arcudi, incumbent, Board of Assessors; Patrick Kennelly, incumbent, Planning Board; Patrick Holland, incumbent, School Committee; Scott Vecchiolla, incumbent, Trustee of Vernon Grove Cemetery; and Barbara Clement and Joseph Arcudi, both incumbents, Constable.
