Remembering the Boston Marathon Victims, One Month Later

A group of about 75 people walked down the Milford Upper Charles Trail Wednesday, from Fino Field to Louisa Lake and back, to remember the Boston Marathon victims.

Cindy Warren, of Hopedale, came out to the Milford Upper Charles Trail Wednesday afternoon to join in a moment of silence and a short walk, to remember and show respect to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Since the bombings, she said, she's been inspired by the victims of the explosions and their efforts to heal and move ahead. "These people are so courageous who are fighting every day," she said. "This is the least I could do."

The event — Milford Memorializes Marathon — was organized on Facebook by two friends, Sara Costigan and Holly Davoren. Both wanted to do something in Milford to remember the marathon victims, and decided on the one-month anniversary.

About 75 people attended, walking through a light drizzle to Louisa Lake and then back to Fino Field. Organizers collected

The attendees wore red, or blue, and Boston symbols including Red Sox gear, or "Boston Strong" T-shirts. Everyone pinned a "Boston Strong" yellow ribbon on their jackets. Alexandra Hein created about 400 of the little yellow ribbons, sold for $1 each to benefit the One Boston Fund.
