Police Log: Pool Cue Mistaken for Rifle; Man Loses Car

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

In the overnight log, officers responded to several motor vehicle crashes, but none involving injury, and reports of disturbances and suspicious people, including a man walking along Medway Road with what looked like a rifle, but was apparently a pool stick.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

3:49 p.m.: A woman called police to report that children were left, unattended, in a car at Supermarket. Before police arrived, the mother returned to the car and left the parking area.

5:41 p.m.: State Police reported a two-vehicle collision, with a possible rollover, on Interstate 495. The collision caused no injury.

6:30 p.m.: A caller from South Bow Street told police that tenants in his building were smoking marijuana.

6:45 p.m.: A customer at called police after he said the manager was acting strangely. Once he got his food, he reported, the manager “was acting strange and locked all of the doors to the business.” Police determined the manager closed the dining room because he was “understaffed. All is fine.”

7:01 p.m.: A man called police from Grafton to report that while driving through Milford Tuesday, his Honda Civic broke down. He pulled into someone’s driveway, and the people who lived there gave him a ride back to Grafton. “His problem is that he has no idea where the car is or who the people were. He has no knowledge of Milford at all and cannot even explain what direction he took to get here.” He asked police to contact him if anyone calls.

7:02 p.m.: Police responded to Hannaford Supermarket for a report of a shoplifting. A caller told police a man in a black sweatshirt and jeans had stolen about $75 worth of baby formula. Police are seeking a summons to charge Michael Francis Roy, 31, of 32 Pine Island Rd., Milford, with shoplifting by asportation.

7:12 p.m.: A caller told police a car was being driven erratically on Dilla Street. Police checked and determined the driver was OK.

9:46 p.m.: A caller told police two people were intoxicated inside on Main Street. Police checked, but the people were not intoxicated.

10:13 p.m.: A caller asked police to check on the well being of a woman in a car outside on Medway Road, who “appeared to be out of it.” Police checked and she was fine.

Wednesday, Nov. 23

12:42 a.m.: A caller on Jefferson Street told police loud noise was coming from an apartment.

7:28 a.m.: Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on South Main at Cape Road. No injuries were involved.

8:02 a.m.: Police responded to to assist a doctor in placing an unruly patient into an ambulance. After arriving, an officer reported back that the patient was not yet ready, but the hospital no longer anticipated an issue with him.

10:25 a.m.: Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Sumner Street at Birmingham Court. No injuries were involved.

11:06 a.m.: A woman called police after spotting a man walking down Medway Road “with some sort of rifle.” An officer reported that he had seen the man earlier “and the object was a pool stick.” Police could not locate the man.

11:35 a.m.: A two-vehicle collision with no injury was reported on Water at Prospect streets.

11:49 a.m.: A caller from Mill Pond Circle reported that a vehicle had been struck the previous night.

11:56 a.m.: A two-vehicle crash with no injury was reported on West at Prospect streets.

12:25 p.m.: A man asked for information on obtaining a restraining order against his son.

2:02 p.m.: A two-vehicle crash with no injury was reported on East Main at Birch streets.
