Police Log: People Screaming, Dog on the Field
The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Milford police responded to several confrontations, according to the police log, including one involving neighbors on Luby Avenue, and another involving a family with a dog on Fino Field.
Tuesday, Feb. 21
4:21 p.m.: Police responded to Purchase Street for a reported domestic in which a former girlfriend reportedly assaulted a man. A report was filed, but no arrests were reported.
4:53 p.m.: Police responded to the new football field at Milford High School and spoke to kids on the field, who were advised they were not allowed to be there.
5:38 p.m.: A motorist told police she had struck a small deer on Birch Street, which was in the roadway. The animal control officer was contacted.
5:40 p.m.: A neighbor on Luby Avenue told police a woman was "yelling and singing" at her next-door neighbor in an attempt to cause a dispute with her over her nationality. Police spoke to the neighbors.
7:46 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Water Street, police arrested Jake D. Watson, 24, of 3 Fern St., Milford, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended and failure to stop or yield. The car was towed.
8:29 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop near Dairy Queen, police arrested Terrance Springer, 25, of 196 Arlington St., Apt. 1, Framingham, on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The car was towed.
9:04 p.m.: A caller from Staples reported two men and two women were outside the store, "yelling obscenities at the customers." The people had tried to buy compressed air inside the store, but were denied because they did not have IDs.
9:31 p.m.: Police responded to a crash in which a car hit a utility pole near Purchase Street Market. No one was injured.
9:53 p.m.: A caller reported an erratic driver in the area of Congress Street at Rolling Green Drive. The car had passed her in a no-passing zone. Police checked and found the vehicle, but could not locate the operator.
10:17 p.m.: Police received a report of loud music and noise coming from Main Street.
10:36 p.m.: A caller reported loud music coming from the same location on Main Street.
Wednesday, Feb. 22
12:05 a.m.: A caller reported a man was in an apartment, screaming, on Pheasant Circle.
1:12 a.m.: A caller on Spruce Street told police his roomate's intoxicated boyfriend was "banging on his door" and had made suicidal attempts. The man was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.
11:00 a.m.: A caller told police a man was on the field at Fino Field with a dog and two kids, and when he told him he could not be there, "he became confrontational." The man was described as wearing black fleece and pushing a baby carriage. Police spoke to the man.
