Police Log: Employee Theft, Snowballs at Cars

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Before the snow melted, officers received a report that someone was throwing snowballs on West Street. And officers also responded to a reported theft from the register at a Dunkin Donuts.

Monday, Jan. 23

3:07 p.m.: A caller on Capitol Road told police she believed someone had tried to burn a Pontiac Aztek overnight. There was damage to the vehicle, she reported. Officers responded.

4:20 p.m.: A caller told police she is getting phone calls from "someone asking for them to load a pre-paid card with money for them."

7:37 p.m.: A Jeep in a parking lot on Cedar Street was reported to have a horn blaring. Police left a message for the owner.

7:58 p.m.: An officer was out with a suspicious vehicle in the Fino Field parking area.

8:29 p.m.: A caller reported someone was "throwing snowballs from the side of the road" on West Street at Madden Avenue.

9:59 p.m.: A man walked in and dropped off a wallet he found on the sidewalk near Birmingham Court.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

2:57 a.m.: La Quinta Inn reported a man was in the front lobby, refusing to leave.

3:06 a.m. to 3:42 a.m.: Two officers issued winter parking ban tickets to five vehicles. The officers covered Main Street, Middleton Street and Prospect Heights.

10:35 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Spruce Street, police arrested Alba Lucia Romero, 45, of 7 Mark Dr., Apt. C, Milford on a warrant.

11:36 a.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report a hit-and-run in the parking lot of Milford Regional Medical Center. No one was injured.

12:01 p.m.: Kmart security contacted police to report a female shoplifter in custody.

1:10 p.m.: A GMC Envoy was repossessed on Oliver Street without incident.

1:25 p.m.: A manager from Dunkin Donuts on East Main Street contacted police to report an employee "taking money from the register." Police are seeking a summons to charge Ashley Lund, 24, of 76 Thomas St., Woonsocket, RI, with larceny under $250.

4:08 p.m.: A woman's license was found at Peter's Market and turned in to police.
