Police Log: Drug Arrests, Woodworking Mishap

These are selected items from the March 25-27 police log.

This edition of the police log includes a motor vehicle stop that led to three people facing drug charges, and a self-inflicted stab wound apparently stemming from intoxicated woodworking. 

Friday, March 25 

1:16 p.m.: Police took a report from a resident of Pearl Street who said her roommate took her jewelry box and threw it into the street.

2:03 p.m.: A motor vehicle stop on Poplar Street led to the arrests of three men on drug charges. Derrick Brigham, 21, of 35 East Main St., Apt. 1, Milford, and Derrick A. Rosenberger, 20, of 34 Inman St., Hopedale, were charged with possession of a class B drug. Tyler Robert Ruggerio, 22, of 54 N. Bow St., Apt. 3, Milford, was charged with distribution of a class B drug.

3:18 p.m.:  Police assisted with a two-car accident in the parking lot of . No one was hurt.

3:49 p.m.: A minor two-car accident was reported near  on Cape Road.

4:20 p.m.: A woman filed a report with police about harassing email messages she had been receiving. 

5:01 p.m.: At the request of the Department of Children and Families, police performed a well-being check on a family on Middleton Street and found everything to be in order. 

7:27 p.m.: Police investigated an alleged hit-and-run accident at G&R Realty on Medway Road, after a caller said her vehicle had been sideswiped by another car, whose driver "exchanged words with her" before fleeing. Police will seek a summons to charge Javier Rodriguez Jr., 22, of 11612 Groveview Way,  Apt. 12, Sanford, FL, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.

7:43 p.m.: Police were called to a home on Depot Street after a caller said her son's father was threatening to take the child. Police arrested Elizandy Dias, 21, of 20 Main St., Milford, on charges of domestic assault and battery.

 10:19 p.m.: An officer gave two youths a ride home from a dance at the . 

Saturday, March 26 

2:12 p.m.: A resident of Bow Street told police that two men had just taken some of his belongings and were walking toward the police station, but he could not provide a description of the men or of the items taken. The officer who investigated found that no items were taken, but that the men had been near the caller's van. Police agreed to conduct extra patrols in the area for the rest of the night. 

7:57 a.m.: Police and fire personnel responded to a disturbance taking place inside an apartment on Colonial Road after a caller said his wife was "destroying their apartment" and may have injured herself in the process. Two people - one willingly and one not - were taken by ambulance to .

9:41 p.m.: Milford police received a be-on-the-lookout advisory from police in Woonsocket, R.I., who said that a red Mazda 626 with two people wanted for questioning in connection with an armed robbery in that community may be in the area. Bellingham police said the vehicle was spotted in Milford the day before. An officer safety advisory was issued.

10:06 a.m.: A woman from Harward Street asked police to help remove her husband, who she said was intoxicated and would not leave. The man left willingly once officers arrived. 

12:11 p.m.: A caller from Goodrich Court complained about alleged illegal dumping taking place near his house. He said as many as two bags per week were being left in the area. The caller later contacted police again to say he had found an address in the trash. After investigating, police will seek a summons to charge Andrew E. DeCollibus, 63, of 11 Goodrich Court, Milford, with littering. 

12:44 p.m.: Police took a report on a possible larceny. The caller said keys and a cell phone had been taken from her daughter when she "attended a party she should not have."

7:23 p.m.: A caller from Kellett Drive complained about loud music from a nearby house. 

9:08 p.m.: Police responding to a reported domestic disturbance in an apartment on Shadowbrook Lane found that all was well and that the parties were "cooking and listening to music."

10:26 p.m.: A motor vehicle stop on South Main Street led to an arrest. Luis Antonio Guallpa, 22, of 25 High St., Milford, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and illegal passing. 

Sunday, March 27

12:12 a.m.: Police investigated after fire rescue crews took an intoxicated man to Milford Regional Medical Center with apparent stab wounds to the stomach. The man told police he was doing woodwork and accidentally stabbed himself. 

2:12 a.m.: For the second time in an hour, a caller from Bancroft Avenue complained about noise from a loud party. Officers found the party had dispersed. 

4:29 a.m.: Police made an arrest after a woman called from Forest Street to say her husband had assaulted her with a lamp. Raymond A. Allard, 50, of 27 Forest St., Milford, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. 

12:05 p.m.: A caller from Shadowbrook Lane reported that his red Audi had been scratched with a key sometime during the previous night. 

12:21 p.m.: A caller from High Street said his black Thunderbird had been struck by a car that drove off sometime the night before. Police took a report.
