Police Log: Garage Damaged in Crash

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

A few minor car accidents occurred overnight as light snow fell and a car struck a garage early Friday morning. 

Thursday, Jan. 19

4:17 p.m.: A group of youths said to be "hanging around" near Memorial Hall were gone when police arrived. 

7:33 p.m.: Police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Optical Shoppe on E. Main St. After offidcers arrived, the client and business owner came to an agreement and no charges were pursued. 

7:51 p.m.: An officer noticed a large pool of water forming on Water St. at High St. Milford Highway Department and the Milford Water Company were notified. 

9:03 p.m.: Police responded to the emergency room at Mlford Regional Medical Center where an intoxciated male allegedly threw urine at a security worker. After an investigation, polcie will seek a summons to charge Albert J. Gallant, 48, of 96 Freedom St., Hopedale, with assault and battery.

11:16 p.m.: Police assisted with a one-car accident on Fountain St. at Congress St. A car was towed. 

Friday, Jan. 20 

4:33 a.m.: An officer was called to Regal Rd., where a plow truck driver said vehicles parked in the roadway are a chronic problem during storms. Citations and warnings were issued and the vehicles moved. 

7:26 a.m.: A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Janock Rd. An officer found a garage had been damaged. The buliding inspector was called to the scene. 

10:18 a.m.: An officer was sent to a business on E. Main St. where a resident said an employee had threatened her. 

11:20 a.m.: Someone reported losing their wallet Tuesday night at Shaw's Market.

Maybe it was beer....how would he the security guard know.....LOL
