Paul Mazzuchelli Steps out of School Committee Race

Paul Mazzuchelli will not seek a third term on the Milford School Committee, citing personal and professional obligations.

Paul Mazzuchelli, a two-term School Committee member, will not run for a third term.

Mazzuchelli said Tuesday he had struggled with the decision, but felt he couldn't guarantee a time commitment to the position, given personal and professional commitments.

Mazzuchelli is fulfilling his current term, and will have served six years when he steps down. He will continue serving on the Milford Housing Authority for at least the next year.

Two positions on the seven-member School Committee are open this spring. Pat Holland, the current chairman, is seeking re-election. And a former School Committee member, Jonathan Bruce, has taken out nomination papers to run for a seat.

The election is April 2.

Put a good old Republican in that housing authority spot if you want money saved.

WOW. Is their anyone who can do something about this school committee? These newer members are driving out all the great resources Milford education has to offer. The disrespect is so obvious, it makes me want to run to get rid of them. They drove out security director, will eventually make our superintendent leave and now they have driven out a man who has given his life to helping Milford be a better place.

Thank you Paul for everything you have done to make the Milford schools what they are and my boys have definitely benefited from your hard work.

I wish more people would consider Public Service. Many qualified people are out there and to have no race in an election is not right. I commend anybody willing to run for Puplic Office.

Guess there won't be a sequel to "The Rumble on West Fountain Street"- last year's big School Committee showdown between this dude and Quattrochio.

Milford is no longer the quaint village it once was. School Committee members getting into brawls, having to have a Security Director, dogs dating cats, a Subway right next to Garden Pizza, Oliva's being sold to a group of Chinese investors and turned into "Royal Buddah 2", 67 Dunkin Donuts, and Nellie Olsen beating the daylights out of Laura Ingalls. Too bad.

Milford is crumbling, just as Rome did.

Hi Butros, I deleted two of your comments as they violated our terms of use on Patch. No name calling, a basic requirement.
