Patch Picks: A Night Out for St. Patrick's Day
Suggestions for where to celebrate the Irish holiday.
A hearty meal is part of the celebration of all-things Irish. In our continuing series of "Patch Picks," we suggest five places to go for St. Patrick's Day. Milford may not be home to a traditional Irish pub, but it has no shortage of restaurants and bars featuring Irish beer and boiled dinners Thursday. Here are just a few of them:
1. Doc's Sports Bar & Grille, 340 E. Main St., will serve corned beef and cabbage all day, and of course, Guinness is on tap.
2. Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub, 196 E. Main St., has corned beef and cabbage on the menu, as well as a corned beef brisket sandwich featuring a Guinness barbecue sauce.
3. Blue Dog Sports Bar and Grille, 110 S. Main St., will also serve corned beef and cabbage tonight, and has specials on Smithwick's ale.
4. T.G.I. Friday's, 240 Fortune Blvd., will put its St. Patrick's Day party in the bar area tonight. Specialty drinks include the "Irish-rita," a margarita that features Jameson Irish Whiskey.
5. Turtle Tavern, 72 Main St., will have a DJ arriving at 4 p.m. and is featuring an "all-you-can-eat" buffet of Irish delicacies, such as corned beef and cabbage.
