One Tree: 3,800 Homes Without Power
A tree fell on a set of wires on South High Street in Milford late Thursday, triggering a sequence of events that led to a power loss for 3,800 homes in Milford, Mendon and Hopedale.
A single tree knocked out power to almost 4,000 homes in three towns on Thursday.

One tree can cause a lot of problems.
A tree fell on electrical wires about 10 p.m. Thursday on South High Street, according to National Grid. The wires toppled and damaged a circuit breaker at a power sub-station on Depot Street.
That, in turn, knocked out power to 3,800 homes in Milford, Mendon and Hopedale for about 30 minutes, said Debbie Drew, a National Grid spokeswoman.
Power was restored by about 10:30 p.m.

It's nice to know why we lost power.
It would be even nicer if the picture matched the story. This is NOT South High St. It is South Main St. And it is was not taken last night. It is from Tropical Storm Irene.

That looks like a family tree not a Milford tree. lol
