Milford Scouts Collect 10 Tons of Food
The annual food drive, Scouting For Food, collects donations for the Milford Daily Bread Food Pantry.
The annual Scouting for Food drive has collected a stunning amount of contributions: 10 tons, in fact.
On Saturday, both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts spread out across town, placing informational hangers on doors to inform residents they would be back to collect food donations. The following day they did, collecting 10 tons of food and delivering it to be sorted.
The scouts received assistance from the Milford and Hopedale Rotary Clubs and the Milford Lions' Club in the form of donated door hangers. In addition, many other volunteers donated time to help in the sorting effort.

In an email, Girl Scout parent Stephanie Haley noted: "Although the advantages of this Food Drive for the Milford Food Pantry are numerous, I think those that benefit most are the Scouts who collect and the volunteers who sort the food... Hopefully, the donations will sustain the Milford Food Pantry over the upcoming cold winter months."
