Memorial Day Events in Milford

Memorial Day, a national holiday that remembers all veterans who died in wars, began following the Civil War. Here are some of the events in Milford.

Memorial Day Parade

The  will begin at 10 a.m. Monday from the Stop & Shop on East Main Street to Draper Memorial Park downtown.

Assembly will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the for all those participating in the parade. The parade will proceed up Main Street, briefly stop at the Doughboy Monument at Calzone Park and then continue up Main Street to for a ceremony and speaking program.

Memorial Day Veterans' Luncheon 

A free luncheon for all veterans and their families will begin at noon Monday at the , Hayward Street.

The luncheon is sponsored by Boy Scouts Troop 2 in Milford and Thanks To Yanks.  Please RSVP by calling 508-330-8487. 

Flag Retirement Ceremony

A special flag burning ceremony to retire American flags will be conducted by local veterans at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the . The public and all veterans are invited to attend. Any one who has an American flag that they would like to retire is welcome to bring them.
