Live or Work on Main Street? Shut Windows Tonight

No one needs construction dust in their house or business. If you have windows facing Main Street, shut them tonight.

Milford Police are advising business owners, managers and homeowners on most of Main Street to shut their windows tonight.

The ongoing construction on Main Street will result in significant dust and dirt Monday night into Tuesday morning, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The contractor will be using a saw to cut expansion joints in the roadway, from Water Street to Beach Street, near Sacred Heart Church.

In addition to noise, the saw cutting will generate dust and dirt. Residents and merchants should close their windows and not use air conditioners, given the potential of dust entering homes or businesses, according to a release from Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin.

So glad they're busting their butts to finish all the main streets but how about considering finishing Orchard st. Getting sick of having the sidewalks in front of my house with big holes in them. It's a little inconvient with two children in the morning on the way to the bus stop, and having to pull in and out of my driveway at an angle so the bottom of my brand new car dosn't get ripped apart.

probably because people with big trucks park on both sides of the road making it nearly impossible to drive thru nevermind work on. I have to agree though, orchard has been ripped up for quite a while, such a small road, hayward was done quicker then this.

The project on Main St. is a Mass Highway project being run by State Engineers. Two different projects. Try complaining to the Milford Highway Department whose running the project on Orchard St instead of wasting your breath here!

I know what your talking about and thank you for agreeing with me. The town did place signs up along the whole street. People are just ignorate and don't think it applies to them. Hopefully people will start getting towed for that ignorance.

I know, it's sad, we have such a confinded area over here you would think people would try to be more curtious with the parking. I'm concidering asking about commercial vehicals being parked on chestnut because of the way they take up the road. And don't even get me started on people parking in front of my driveway....
